Summer time

Wow!! Hard to believe we are at the end of summer already and preparing for school to resume. Many of you that came in and graced us with your artistic talents this summer got to meet my 3 younger children. They joined a fun lunch/activity group this summer so they didn't have to spend all day every day at the store. LOL. They have enjoyed their summer.

We didn't have very good turn outs this summer for camps and classes we did. I heard from many they weren't getting our facebook posts. I'm not very tech savvy so I am not sure why, but someone did suggest it is in the settings. My posts were checked and made sure they are made public so all should be getting them. Then it goes to the receiver page settings with if just liked or followed and how you've rated the friendship. I don't know what specifically this all means. It's been feedback from others to try and correct the issue. So if you've liked or followed us on facebook.com/createitdrawpaintfire please check your settings if you aren't getting our posts. If you haven't liked or followed us yet, please do so. I post most often on our facebook page for most people do facebook. Advertising is very expensive but we do some in the local papers. I also advertise through the Canton Chamber of Commerce which also has a facebook page. I try to get out events on the Canton Illinois Website calendar as well for all to see. So just trying to figure out computers has kept me quite busy this summer!!

We will be closing early September 13-15 to participate in the Friendship Festival Merchant Building on the edge of Canton at the FairGrounds. We will close at 4 when my children get off the bus and head over to be there 5-8 and Saturday the 16th we will watch the parade and then again be in the merchant building from 11-6pm. Sharon's Country Blessings who sold her glass art in the studio will be sharing a booth with me. If you didn't get one of her birdfeeders stop in and see her too. She has many one of a kind pieces and is willing to make you one if you have a certain color you want and she doesn't have it. I will also have some of Martha's Homemade Goat Milk Soap from Quadfarms with me. Scents are limited for she has pulled out of the studio as well and only left a few bars behind.

We are not looking for the colder months that are upon us but in Illinois you have to take the bad with the good. Winter gives us the chance to get new pieces poured and molds gone through. We are down to 2 car stalls rather than the 3 we had, but it has been a long SLOW process. We also have several we have decided to sell so if you are into pottery and want pourable molds stop in and check outs out. With winter coming we will schedule some art camps and we are planning on doing some on Saturdays for it's requested as weekday camps make it difficult for working parents. So keep your eyes on FACEBOOK Events tab for those dates. As always if you have a design or idea you would like to paint, stop in with a picture and we will set a date to make it a class, all ages.

So as we wind up our summer season, I hope you all have had an eventful one and the kids are ready to get back to school, however long it shall last, and that this winter we can have some super fun and exciting camps and classes planned and executed for our small community. Quinten, my 15 year old is also looking to host Science Camp again since no one signed up for that one. He is very into experiments and such and has some pretty cool ones picked out. A few were exploding paint, elephant toothpaste and growing candles. We are also looking to host a nature camp on Sept 13th and October 20th we are attempting our first all day camp (9-5) and will be getting into running this studio a bit too. How things run and the not so fun stuff we have to do in the studio. So be sure to check out all the events on facebook, call, message, or email to get more info or sign up for any or all. Most have a $10 fee to them. We haven't gotten a cost on the all day yet as we don't have all crafts planned and priced yet. Science camp will be $15 for it will have more supplies for the experiments too. Hope you all had a great summer, have a great school year and come in and warm up with some creative fun this winter.
