Spring??

Hard to believe its Spring and still snowing!! Today we celebrate our oldest sons birthday. Quinten turned 16 today and he will be finished with high school by the weekend. We are so proud of him. If you have been in to see us, he's the one usually sitting quietly in the office doing school work or behind the counter engrossed in Netflix as his reward for finishing a days work. He led a full day of Science experiments at our Spring Break Art Camp and even though he is quiet, he really enjoyed doing it but was disappointed some of the experiments didn't work right. He wants to try again at Summer Art Camp but rather than do a whole day, more like an experiment each day. He would like to go into engineering for he likes putting things together and making them work. He doesn't, however care for school. So, for now he's going to finish school and begin pouring pieces for us to have in our studio and sell wholesale to other studios and artists.

We have caught the cold bug that is going around in our family. We rarely get sick but this "Spring" with the warm then freezing temps has gotten us in a frazzle. We've been fighting it and passing it the past few weeks. Taking care of the kids with it I finally am coming down with it now too. My husband stayed home from work today with it hoping we both are rid of it for good by weekend so he can come home and we can get some needed work done.

We have several plans in the works right now. May 3 Canton school is out at 11:30 so we are planning another Mom's Day Camp. Last year we made several items to pamper Mom a bit. Haven't decided on all of them this year, but we are planning a few to brighten her day a little bit in all this gloom we've been having. $10 per camper. May 5th we will be closed and participating in the Y's Healthy Kids Activity Day where we are planning a little activity for the kids to do and take home to hopefully help them "feed" a healthy lifestyle. Hope you can join us for that. Sounds like it will be loads of fun and lots of education too. May 19 we have Star Box Class for all ages. Cost for this class will be $25 You can choose the time you want between 10-12, 1-3, or 4-6. June 8 we will have Dad's Day Camp where we will make some crafts honoring Dads. Cost will be $10 a camper. We are planning Summer Art Camp already as well. Summer Art Camp is scheduled for June 19-22. Again we will divide ages 5-9 from 9am-11am and 10-15 yea olds will meet 1pm-3pm. Cost will be $12 a day per camper. We will do a variety of crafts and some painting at either session. We hope you can join us and don't forget to get registered for these before they fill up.

We will be evaluating where we are at the end of June to determine what we need to do for the benefit of our store. We opened our studio and thought it would be a great addition to our area as there isn't much "to do" here and it's great for family time. We have worked very hard to keep our costs low for our customers to afford a family outing and have items available for anyone's likings. We are finding more are asking for more practical items such as dishes, than decorative items. We are working on pouring more kitchen items. Canisters and bathroom sets etc. We have some sets but not complete but as we work through our molds we are hoping to find the rest of the sets to offer. We are also working on moving our "Workshop" to our home as the molds tend to make a bit of a mess and noisy to run the table in the store. We are also limited with space on number of pieces we can do at once. So, we added on to our garage and building shelves to house the molds and pour more at once. So if you have been looking for a piece or something unique let us know and we will keep our eyes open for your requests and let you know when poured and ready. Even if you want the piece and paint it yourself at your home and not have it fired. We are excited to see what else we have, but also realize business has been slow and costs are going up, again, so we will be considering our options.

We ask as a part of the Canton Community that you all consider what we have in town for your service. We have many restaurants, but little for entertainment. We are excited for the new theater to open up. We still offer parties of all kinds: Birthday (birthday person gets 30% off up to a $30 piece with minimum of 5 painters), bridal or baby showers (Bride or Mom-to-be gets all the pieces the group paints, host(ess) gets 30% off up to $30 piece, the guests paint a piece as their gift to the bride or Mom-to-be), company holiday parties, girls nights out (BYOB), etc. We also offer group discounts. One group paying one bill, with 8-10 painters gets 10% off, 11-15 painters gets 15%, and 16-20 painters gets 20% off pottery. Call and make a reservation for large groups and parties.

We are working hard to stay open and servicing Canton. Come Shop local with us and help us stay open. We do have painted pieces available for purchase for gifts also if you don't paint but want to give a special painted piece. You can choose the piece and the colors and we will paint it for you, or pick up a gift certificate to give as a gift to your favorite artists. Shop Small Business, Shop Local, help build Canton back up!!
